🖤 Tattoo Aftercare Instructions

  • Leave the bandage or wrap on for the amount of time your artist recommends (usually a few hours, sometimes overnight if it’s Saniderm or another barrier film).
  • Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your tattoo.
  • Gently wash the tattoo with warm water and unscented soap. Pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel — don’t rub.
  • Let your tattoo breathe or apply a thin layer of ointment (like Aquaphor or a tattoo-specific aftercare product) if directed.
  • Wash your tattoo gently 1–2 times daily.
  • Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free lotion or aftercare ointment as needed to keep it from drying out.
  • Avoid picking, scratching, or peeling your tattoo, even if it itches — this is normal!
  • Your tattoo will start to flake and peel like a sunburn — this is normal.
  • Continue moisturizing regularly.

  • Keep it out of direct sun and don’t apply sunscreen until the skin is completely healed.
